With the ever growing support and backing of Woodlands Community School at Allestree, Woodlands FC was founded early in 2007 by the management team of an existing Derbyshire based girls football team. We currently have four age groups which are under 10's girls ( Black Socks & White Socks ), under 13's girls, under 15's girls and Senior Ladies Team within the club. We also have a group of younger girls - 'Future Stars' who take part in football based activities and games on a Saturday morning. As a club we rely on local companies for sponsorship, all of which can be seen on our website using the sponsors link or at the top righthand corner of this page. This is backed up by the excellent partnership between the club and the school for our training and match day facilities. Our club colours are Black & White Shirts, Black Shorts and Black Socks. Throughout the clubs early development we have been striving towards the FA Charter Standard which is awarded to clubs for Best Practice and early in 2008 Woodlands FC reached their goal. (Picture). Also in 2008 the club was nominated by the Derbyshire FA for the Club of the year award which was attended by many sporting clubs and groups throughout the whole of Derbyshire. (Picture) |
