A very important game for Woodlands, playing against last seasons League & Cup winning team. The first half was forgettable with very few chances for both sides.
Woodlands best chance saw Claire run on to a throughball from Antonia, but she shot early and the keeper was able to get her fingers to the ball and catch it at the second attempt. Most of West Bridgfords opportunities were gifted by a lack lustre first half performance.

Woodlands second half performance was as good as the first half was poor. Claire rediscovering her scoring touch with a quite beautiful chip that left the keeper with no chance on 55 minutes.
Woodlands moved further ahead on 66 minutes when Claire ran on to a throughball by Hollie to fire her shot past the stricken West Bridgford keeper's right hand and inside the post.
Claire, by now buzzing, made the third with an unselfish run down the left, she cut in and fed the ball back for Shannon to complete the scoring.
Again special praise for the defensive quartet of the two Chloe's, Katie & Betty who defended brilliantly to keep out West Bridgford at the end.
A good result, that should see Woodlands finish in the top group, when the season eventually splits in three.
