Another fixture against Arnold Town , therefore another tight game was predicted by all after our recent draw at home to this opposition .
I was up earlier than normal ( if thats possible
) thinking the game through and planning how to get the best out of the girls after a superb training session yesterday in which we focused on defending , forcing the attacker wide and not giving them time on the ball .
I needn't have worried because these superstars played almost the perfect game for us , taking all on board what we had done in training
Molly - superb handling as always and 2 very good saves near the end stopped Arnold getting a consulation goal and preserving your clean sheet
Lottie - back to your tigerish best today , leading the team well and defending brilliantly . You also found time to hit the Arnold bar in the second half
Esther - monumental performance covering every blade and not giving their forwards an inch , your covering play was excellent as well when Lottie and Eloise ventured forward
Eloise - a nervy start but you grew into the game and got better as it went along . Your tackle and excellent distribution lead directly to our second goal
April - supposedly injured you had a brilliant game . Your range of passing was better and of course your normal superb energy levels . 2 excellent finishes as well . OPPOSITION MANAGERS PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Rosie - another magnificent performance of passing , vision and shooting . You also worked hard today to win the ball back and that contributed to another excellent performance
Rian - you worked hard and got your just rewards with a well taken goal . You also had several other good efforts on goal which on another day would have gone in , WOODLANDS MANAGERS PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Leanne - a very good burst at right back , that is the most composed you have played . You played the ball well up the flanks and held your position well
Erin - a lively stint on the right of midfield and you looked bright and gave the Arnold defenders plenty to think about
So in summary this was a marvellous performance in what really was an important game . This was the best team performance for several weeks and we were all pleased with how they played both in training yesterday and todays match .
One league game left now at home to Derby County in a fortnight and then the Cup Final .
